New Way To Treat Depression In Joplin

Updated:
JOPLIN, MISSOURI -

A new way to treat depression has made it's way to the four-states...Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or "TMS" therapy is a non-drug, non-invasive treatment for patients with major depression who have not seen success on anti-depressant medication.
Freeman Health's Ozark Center recently debuted the technology which uses a highly targeted pulsed magnetic field, similar to what an MRI machine uses, to stimulate nerves in the part of the brain believed to control mood.  one local patient says he's already seeing improvements after recently starting the TMS treatment.

Ted Sager, Patient:  "I can't say that i had an epiphany with it, but the other side of it was that as i go along everything seems to be running a little bit smoother and some of the problems I've had in the past just aren't there anymore."
