Three Gorillas Named All-MIAA VB

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Three members of the Pittsburg State University volleyball team earned All-MIAA honors Thursday (Nov. 8) following a vote of the conference head coaches.
 
Senior rightside hitter Lauren Regier was named to the second-team All-MIAA squad, while junior defensive specialist Lauren Dunn and sophomore middle blocker Emily Regier garnered honorable mention All-MIAA accolades.

Lauren Regier (Newton, Kan.) led the Gorillas with 343 kills, averaging 3.04 kills per set. She ranked ninth in the MIAA in kills per set. Regier also compiled 79 total blocks (0.70 bpg) and a team-leading 414 points (3.66 pps) on the season. Regier started all 31 matches for the Gorillas, helping the squad to an 18-13 overall record.
 
Dunn (Louisburg, Kan.) led the Gorillas with 456 digs, averaging 4.07 digs per set. She also had a team-high 60 service aces on the season to set a new single-season Pitt State record in the category. Dunn, who played in all 31 matches for the Gorillas, led the MIAA in service aces and ranked ninth in the conference in digs per set.
 
Emily Regier (Newton, Kan.) led the Gorillas with 118 total blocks and eight solo blocks. She also recorded 206 kills (1.84 kps) while hitting for a .285 percentage on the season. Regier finished the season ranked third in the MIAA in blocks per set (1.05 bps).
