Police: 80+ Tires Punctured Since Nov. 1st in Monett, MO


The Monett, Missouri Police Department asks the public for information after numerous reports of tires being punctured and flattened. Authorities say since November 1st, 2018, tires on at least 59 vehicles were punctured. They estimate the damage to be about $10,400 as of November 6th.

Authorities say reports started coming in on Thursday morning (Nov. 1st), the day after Halloween. They received reports of 11 tires cut on 5 different vehicles.

Police received reports of damage again Saturday morning (Nov. 3rd) of damage to 30 tires on 23 vehicles. Authorities say the damage was mainly on the west side of town.

Then on Sunday morning (Nov. 4th), police took reports of damage to 45 tires on 30 vehicles. The Sunday reports came from across town from Eisenhower and Nellie to Chapel Drive and Highway 60, including the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Police say a damage report was also taken on Monday (Nov. 5), but the damage may have been from Sunday.

Monett Police Officers have received tips and looked at surveillance video. They've spoken with several people including juveniles and adults. Authorities are not releasing any suspect information at this time, pending formal charges. They are asking anyone with information connected to this crime to contact the Monett Police Department.
