Former Pittsburg High RB Alex Barnes Has Career Day for K-State


Former Pittsburg High School running back Alex Barnes had a huge day for the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday vs. Baylor.

Barnes set a career-high with 250 yards on 22 carries, while also scoring three touchdowns on the afternoon. 250 yards is the 5th-highest single game rushing total for any player in K-State history. 

On the season, the former Purple Dragon has 607 yards and 5 touchdowns through six games.

Barnes is a junior for the Wildcats. In his time at Pittsburg High School he set single season and career SEK league records for rushing yards and touchdowns. He was a 4X 1st team All-SEK performer and earned All-State honors his junior year at PHS.
