MURDER APPEAL

  • A man convicted of two murders in Barry County will appeal his sentence.  Christopher Paschall was convicted and sentenced for shooting and killing the mother of his children, Casey Brace and her grandfather Herbert Townsend while kidnapping their two-year old daughter in Barry county in January of 2015.  Attorney William Fleischaker filed notice of appeal on Friday.

JOSH HAWLEY TOUR

  • Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley brought his "let's debate tour," to Joplin on Saturday.  He spoke to residents about a wide range of issues such as the supreme court confirmation and immigration.  Hawley also continued to challenge his opponent in the u-s senate race, Claire McCaskill to a debate in the back of trailer.

OFFICER MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE

  • A white Dallas police officer is been arrested on a manslaughter charge for shooting a black man after she says she mistook his apartment for her own.  The Texas Department of Public safety says Amber Guyger fatally shot 26-year old Botham Jean Thursday after her shift.  Lawyer's for Jean's family had been calling for her arrest.

MOONVES OUT

  • CBS Chairman and CEO Leslie Moonves has resigned, bowing to pressure brought on by a widening sexual harassment scandal.  The number of women now publicly accusing Moonves of sexual misconduct has doubled to 12, according to the New Yorker magazine.  Moonves has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct.

HURRICANE FLORENCE

  • Hurricane Florence is gaining strength as it rumbles towards the east coast.  While the storm isn't expected to hit until later this week, people along the shore are already filling sandbags and gathering supplies.  Both the Carolinas and Virginia are now under states of emergency.
