Snyder Agrees to 5-year Extension at Kansas State

Kansas State head football coach Bill Snyder isn't going anywhere soon.

Snyder agreed to a 5-year extension with the university on Thursday that will keep him in Manhattan through 2022. Snyder is currently 78 years old, which makes him the oldest active college coach in the country. He will be 82 when this contract expires.

The extension comes with a bump in pay for Snyder. His salary for this season increases from $3.2 million this season to $3.45 million. The following two years his pay will increase by $300,000 each year. If Snyder is still with the school at that time, he will negotiate his salary with the athletic director for the final years.

Kansas State hired Snyder in 1989. He has coached the team for 27 years now. He retired following the 2005 season, but returned to the school in 2009.
