Southeast Kansas Teen Dies in 3-Vehicle Crash

Bourbon County, KS -

The crash happened on August 8th, 2018, around 9:40 a.m. in Bourbon County, Kansas.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 15-year-old Hunter Kovacic of Stark, Kansas was driving a Ford Ranger north on Highway 69 about five miles south of Fort Scott when he crossed the center line, side-swiped a F350 pickup truck and hit a semi head on.

Kovacic was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi driver was injured and taken to Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott. The driver of the F350 was not injured.

The road was closed for several hours as authorities investigated the crash.
