KOAM MORNING NEWS TO KNOW 3-13

VADEN BOND SET

  • A judge sets bond for the man accused of killing a three year old Carl Junction girl.  Jalen Vaden is charged with second degree murder and abuse or neglect of a child resulting in the death of Jayda Kyle.  Monday morning his bond was set with special conditions.  Vaden must pay $750,000 cash or bond; plus $250,000 cash.  The court has set two dates aside for a jury trial, one in June and the other in July.

T.A.G. WEEK

  • Pitt State kicked off TAG week on Monday.  TAG stands for Thank A Gorilla, and it's a week devoted to honoring the university's donors.  PSU advancement ambassadors placed red ribbons and tags on buildings around campus that wouldn't have been made possible without some outside help.  Tagged locations include the Leonard Axe Library, the Kansas Technology Center and Carnie Smith Stadium.

AUSTIN BOMBS

  • Authorities in Texas are searching for whomever sent a trio of package bombs to residences in Austin, starting earlier this month.  One package exploded at a home Monday morning...killing a teenager and injuring another adult.  Texas Governor Greg Abbott is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
