Armed robbery at Webb City bank

WEBB CITY, MISSOURI -

Authorities are on the look out for an armed robber who they say held up the U.S. Bank on South Madison Avenue in Webb City.

The armed robbery took place just after 9 a.m. today.

Authorities released a photo of the suspect who they say entered the branch, displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the teller.  The suspect left with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police say the subject fled southbound from the bank on foot got into a gray or silver SUV and drove southbound on Madison Avenue.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The bank was closed the rest of the morning and into the afternoon while Webb City police officers gathered information from bank employees and witnesses.

Authorities say the robber is described as a 5'11" white male between 25 and 30 years old.  He was wearing a gray hoodie with blue sleeves, blue jeans and had on a facemask with a Carhardt logo.
