Habitat for Humanity volunteers begin on a new home for a tornado-affected family.
Workers raised the first walls of the home located on Central Street.

The United Way provided $40,000 to fund the project.
"The level of need, which is one of our criteria for Habitat homes, is high," says Scott Clayton of Joplin Habitat for Humanity. "The partnership that develops with the family and the community and the volunteers and builders is, when it all comes together, is so very special."
A tribute to the men and women in our community who have loyally served in the Armed Forces.
