A non-profit out based out of Austin, Texas has donated $150,000 to the Joplin Tornado Relief Fund.
KW Cares presented the check on Thursday.
The money will help build the Will Norton Memorial Miracle Field , named after a high school student killed in the tornado.
It will be a baseball field at the Joplin Athletic Complex for children with disabilities.
"There are 1,800 students in Joplin, Webb City and Carl Junction that have never been on a team, they are all listed as disabled or having a special need, and we want to change that," says Jenny Hocker of the Joplin Rotary Tornado Task Force.
There will be both Spring and Fall leagues with the new facility, and a new playground for anyone all year around.
The foundation plans to break ground next month and hopes to complete the project by Fall.
A tribute to the men and women in our community who have loyally served in the Armed Forces.
