Local broadcaster announces candidacy for county commission

NEOSHO, MISSOURI -

Jim Jackson says he will run for the Newton County 2nd district commissioner position.

Jackson and his wife, Susan, live in Neosho.

He currently serves as the 6 and 10 news anchor for KSNF-TV in Joplin.

Jackson says he has no immediate plans to retire but if elected he would step down from his anchoring duties at KSNF.

Filing opens Tuesday February 28.
