Granby man to go to trial for shooting incident

Updated December 8, 2010 4:40 PM CST:  A Granby, Missouri man will go to trial for shooting a man.

Newton County officials say William Eads was bound over for trial in the shooting of Jordan Newman in the arm in October.  Eads is also the suspect in a Webb City stabbing incident from early October.

Authorities say both victims were treated and released.

Police have identified Eads as a member of the gang known as the "Joplin Honkies".

Updated October 20, 2010 12:10 PM CST:  A member of a local gang wanted for stabbing a Webb City, Missouri man is now accused of shooting a man in Neosho.

William Eads is a known member of the Joplin Honkies, a gang whose members are connected through the Missouri prison system.

Eads is from Granby, Missouri and was incarcerated in 2006 on drug charges out of McDonald County.

The 29-year-old was arrested again in Newton County Tuesday night.

He is now charged with second degree assault, burglary and armed criminal action.  These charges stem from a home burglary in Webb City where police say Eads stabbed the resident.

Eads is also facing charges of first degree assault and armed criminal action in Newton County.  Sheriff Ken Copeland says the charges stem from an incident last weekend on North Wood in Neosho.  That is where authorities say Eads shot the homeowner after some type of disturbance.

Updated October 15, 2010 12:30 PM CST:  Authorities now have a suspect in a Webb City, Missouri stabbing incident.

William Eads is charged with second degree burglary and assault along with armed criminal action.

Police are still looking for Eads and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Updated September 29, 2010 4:00 PM CST:  A man from Webb City, Missouri is recovering after apparently being stabbed by a robber.

The incident happened on North Jefferson Street Wednesday morning.

Police say Ryan Tandy, 29, noticed a man trying to steal an air compressor from his garage.

When Tandy confronted the suspect, he was stabbed in the upper chest.

Janie Lasswell, Tandy's mother, lives at the address and says her son is not in serious condition.

"I normally leave my doors open when I'm here," Lasswell says.  "I won't be doing that no more, but it is scary, and I don't know who would do it."

Police are still looking for a suspect.

Police in Webb City, Missouri respond to a stabbing Wednesday morning.

The incident happened on North Jefferson.

One woman who lives at the address says her son was stabbed near the shoulder by someone who was trying to steal tools from an outside shed.

The woman says her son was not in serious condition.

Police are still looking for the suspect.
