    A jury finds James Henneha guilty of first degree murder in the death of 38-year-old Tonya Crawford.     Muriece Scholes, 77, of rural Frontenac, Ks enters a plea deal for shooting a Pittsburg man. The crime happened on June 4th, 2017, near 940 S. 250th Street in Crawford County, Kansas. Dispatch received a call about a man being shot. Deputies responded and found 42-year-old Warren Hill with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.     11 people, including five children escaped from an overnight house fire in Joplin.  The two-story fire on the corner of South 19th and Seargent erupted into flames around three o’clock this morning.  A total of four trucks worked to put out the flames, but nearly two hours later those flames were still burning strong.  Six adults and five children were in the home and escaped uninjured.  One of the family members says they had three space heaters running and ...More >>

    The Barton County Sheriff's Office releases information about a kidnapping case. Authorities have arrested a Lamar, Missouri man for kidnapping and resisting arrest. A 46-year-old woman told authorities that she had been tied up and bound by duct tape and nylon rope at her home off "A" Highway in Barton County.

    The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says a female inmate was taken to the hospital today, October 30th, 2018, where she died. According to Sheriff Jeremy Floyd, the county jail's detention staff was notified around 12:08 p.m. of a female inmate that was having medical related issues. Staff went into the female's cell to offer assistance as they notified EMS. They entered the cell and found her seizing on the floor.
