The Southwest Missouri Workforce Investment Board of Southwest Missouri (WIB) teams up with the Career Center for a new awareness program.
Tuesday at the Joplin Chamber of Commerce the WIB launched the joint effort that uses today's technology to make people facing layoffs or companies struggling to survive aware of the help that is available.
Representatives showed a video they will distribute to churches, services organizations and others in hopes of reaching workers so they can move swiftly to get back in the workforce.
"Really, seek to make that more effective and better for the customer in terms of getting the information they need quickly, being able to get that at their convenience and their terms and not necessarily have to be in a specific building at a specific time in order to connect," says Jason Jones, the Executive Director of WIB.
The new videos will be shown regularly on Cableone's public access channel.
